Maternal Matters Favored (Favored) is a 501c3 whose focal point is to provide services to those with perinatal and postpartum mood disorders .
We are committed to delivering counseling, support groups, life skills, and community referral services. The program’s objective is to serve as a method to aiding an individual on their journey through life while parenting. This cannot be done successfully without a collaborative community effort!

*More than 10% of fathers experience depression and anxiety during the perinatal period.
*At least 60% of women with perinatal depression have experienced a mental health condition in the past.
*Individuals of Latinx heritage exhibit a higher prevalence of perinatal mental health disorder(s) and are less likely to be identified or receive adequate and culturally competent mental health care.
*Approximately 1 in 10 women will experience postpartum depression after giving birth, with some studies reporting 1 in 7 women.
*It is estimated that nearly 50% of mothers with postpartum depression are not diagnosed by a health professional.
