Community Crops was started with one community garden in 2003, and has grown over the years to become a fixture for food production, education, and community development in Lincoln, Nebraska. Crops now has 10 community garden sites, a training farm, a production greenhouse, garden and cooking education for all ages, a mobile farmers market and new storefront, and more.

In 2023, Community Crops became a program of Family Service Lincoln, one of Lincoln's oldest non-profits with a mission of Helping Families Thrive! All Community Crops staff & programming remains the same, but from our new home at Family Service Lincoln.

Why support?

In 2023, Crops stewarded over 48,900 total sq ft of production space through 12 gardens.
Crops helped launch 9 farm businesses across 3 farm sites. Our farmers produced $42,069 in sales, a 46% increase from 2022.
182 households with 573 individuals built community in our gardens and farms
38,142 lbs of produce were harvested
119 growers attended 21 classes
100 community members attended our annual Seed Swap event

37% are immigrants and refugees
