Last season's success—earning two Helen Hayes Award Recommendations and recognition as D.C. Theater Arts 2023 Staff Favorites—was possible because of patrons like you. But we are more than just a theater company—education is at the heart of our mission. This year, our summer camp programs brought the magic of storytelling to life for young performers. Our after-school and mentorship programs continue to nurture the next generation of artists. From summer camps to after-school classes, we offer a wide range of opportunities for students of all ages to explore the magic of the performing arts. Whether learning to act or building skills behind the scenes, we prepare the next generation of theater artists.

Compass Rose Theater, led by Executive Director Barbara Webber, was founded in 2011 under the leadership of Founder and Theater Advisor Lucinda Merry-Browne. Compass Rose Theater is an award-winning and critically acclaimed professional theater and nonprofit teaching company in Annapolis. It is rooted in the belief that theater education creates performance excellence. The theater's unwavering commitment to upholding the highest artistic and educational standards is at the core of each presentation, whether a play, musical, reading, or workshop. It has produced more than 50 shows, garnering a Helen Hayes Award for A Chorus Line, five Helen Hayes Award nominations, and several Helen Hayes Award Recommendations.
