Compton’s Table is a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Erie, Pennsylvania. We specialize in curating safe spaces for queer and gender nonconforming people. It is currently our dream to obtain a permanent home for our organization so we can better serve this community. I personally wish to see this goal achieved because we are currently at a time in our country where queer people, especially the youth, are being threatened. I want them to know, despite this, that there is a permanent place for them to go in this city, ran and owned by other queer people. I want them to have somewhere safe and secure and consistent and accessible. By owning our own building, we will be able to better provide our current services, as well as provide expand services such as a possibility of temporary housing or work opportunities at a possible on-site cafe.
