2025 Impact

In 2025, Concerts with a Cause presented over 25 shows, raising more than $10,000 for 19 different Kaua‘i nonprofits through direct donations, ticket proceeds, and on-site engagement. Each event at Porter Pavilion pairs world-class talent with a local cause, offering not only financial support but also media coverage and community tabling opportunities that expand visibility for grassroots organizations. By transforming live music into a platform for collective action, Concerts with a Cause strengthens Kaua‘i’s cultural and philanthropic spirit—celebrating creativity, collaboration, and compassion.

Beyond the tangible gift of financial and marketing support to partner nonprofits, Concerts with a Cause provides the Kaua‘i community with access to shared positive experiences that enrich the lives of those who call the island home. The program also draws significant visitor spending in a community whose economy depends on tourism, including the sale of 32 destination lodging packages in 2025 tied to our featured artist offerings, demonstrating the growing potential for cultural tourism and new visitor markets on Kaua‘i.

In addition to its community and cultural benefits, the program directly supports 5 full-time and 10 part-time positions within Anaina Hou, along with two long-term contracting partnerships that employ an additional 30 individuals. It also provides ongoing opportunities for local and touring musicians, as well as countless volunteer hours that extend the impact of every performance and help sustain Kaua‘i’s creative economy.

2025 Cost

In total, Concerts with a Cause incurred a cash outlay of roughly $500,000 throughout 2025. Much of this was offset by ticket receipts and on site food and beverage sales. Overall, the program was a financial loss. In order for Anaina Hou to continue this program we need financial assistance.

2026 Goal

Looking ahead, our goal is to generate $200,000 in direct support to offset our artist fees, production costs, and personnel costs associated with producing these events. Funding support allows us to keep our ticket cost low, making the arts more accessible to the local populace and n turn maximizing the dollar per ticket we can donate back to our partnership non profits. Additional to our financial needs, we are looking for in-kind support through lodging, marketing, and travel sponsors.
