My wife and I have been living in Charleston County for 22 years. Over that time period, we have seen a negative impact to the quality of life due to traffic and congestion with the growth that we have all experienced in the area. I also enjoy cycling and have seen the roads become much more dangerous over the past 10 or so years. Last year I was hit by a car going through an intersection.

I am convinced that we can be smarter about the way we include pedestrians and bicycles as we see more growth going forward. We have seen this done in communities and cities all over the world so we know there are solutions. But solutions are going to take vision and leadership with those communities impacted. Charleston Moves is there to think through possible solutions to protect and keep what we have, which is a phenomenal place to live. I want to make sure that every angle for growth is considered in a practical, constructive way for all of us.

Connect with Charleston Moves 2020

Thursday, November 12

6-7 pm

Presented by Bike Law, Morrison Yard, Parker Capital Management, Raven Cliff Company + The BEND

** RSVP REQUIRED: click “RSVP | DONATE” at the top (donations optional) **

How Charlestonians get around is deeply personal — it influences how often we spend time with family and friends; the quality of food we eat; our ability to access healthcare; where we learn, work and play; and how we interact with our natural environment. These quality-of-life fundamentals all tie to reliable transportation choice, and we believe in people’s right to live their best lives, free from fear.

Please join us for Connect with Charleston Moves 2020! This virtual, livestream event will be an engaging look at this year's exciting multi-modal accomplishments, our current and upcoming priorities, and specific ways for you to take action to support our movement. We'll also have a live Q&A.

We have missed you, and hope to see your faces on the screen, answer all of your questions and have some fun!

Registration is free, but required to participate. If you sign up before October 12, you will receive a package in the mail with a schedule for the evening, handful of goodies, and advocacy toolkit.

Connect with Charleston Moves 2020 will replace this year's Pedal & Panache, our annual fall fundraiser. Please consider donating (before and/or during the event) to help us keep on track during this difficult budget year. Donations of $50 or more will unlock tiers of newly-designed swag (no code needed to view) for you to choose from, so you can show off your commitment to safe streets in style. All items will be printed locally and mailed directly to you following the event — we'll cover shipping!

As a valued member of our community, we would love for you to join us on November 12. We are proud of our progress this year, and excited to bring you in on our upcoming priorities.

Special THANK YOU to our presenting sponsors:
