The 10th Annual Sweet Heart Seminar

Pregnant at age 17, instead of teen pregnancy becoming a roadblock for Altrichia Cook Wilcox, she turned it into a stepping stone and chose to DEFY THE ODDS! Since 2014, Altrichia and her nonprofit agency, Mentoring Agency for Maternal Adolescents (M.A.M.A) Inc. has mentored, empowrered and positiviely impacted teen parents by hosting the Sweetheart Seminar in partnership with the Polk County Schools Teen Parent Program. Though this population is often counted out, the goal of The Sweetheart Seminar is to foster the importance of self-love, self-awareness and encouraging the student parents to delay further pregnancies and further their education! As a dedicated mentor and former teen mom turned success, Wilcox believes that each component of The Sweetheart Seminar will help the young mothers understand the power they possess which will, in turn, help them become successful and productive women; always choosing to defy the odds.

On Friday, February 9, 2024 we will host our 10th annual Sweetheart Seminar. This year's theme is "Standing on Business." Our mission is to empower teen parents in Central Florida's Polk County Schools Teen Parent Program to build a better future for themselves and their children abd motivate the student parents to activate their self-love and confidence; empowering them to never give up and to persevere.

As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generosity of our local community and business partners to make a difference. This year, as we prepare for our 10th annual event, we are asking for your help to make it truly unforgettable. Your donations, big or small, will go a long way in supporting our cause. one hundred percent (100%) of your donation will assist with event operations including t-shirts, empowerment bags for the student-parents that will be filled with self-empowerment and self-care items, lunch , diapers, wipes, baby care items, event decor and the 2024 Success Is My Only Option Scholarship which is awarded in March at the Navigating Your Future Leadership Conference.
