For only $10, you'll receive a reusable Friends logo tote bag which you can fill with books of your choosing, as well as an annual membership with the Friends! Your donation helps us help the Rice Public Library's programs, including the children's summer reading program and funding for passes to local museums, aquariums, and attractions for free family visits. About Us
Friends of the Rice Public Library has been a cornerstone of community support in Kittery, Maine, for over 65 years since our founding in April, 1959. Lead by dedicated locals, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization has continually worked to enhance the library’s resources and programs. In 2024, after decades of leadership, the leading members of the last 25 years passed the torch to the next generation, ushering in a new chapter under the leadership of President Lesley Wood and Board Members Karen Bensley, Alan Shapiro, Jess Abbott, and Kathryn Brokus. With fresh energy and a focus on digitizing our efforts, we’re excited to grow alongside our vibrant and ever-expanding community.
