I grew up in Enterprise Oregon in Beautiful Wallowa County. After graduating High School in 2005, I attended college for 2 years. Deciding that wasn’t the right fit, I joined the Marine Corps in December of 2006 as a Military Police Officer.
Graduating at the top of the class, I was selected to go to the Military Working Dog Course on Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas to become a K-9 Handler. Upon graduation, I was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina for the next 3 years. Being a patrol/explosive detection dog handler, I was able to travel the country as a K-9 Handler working for the Secret Service at the United Nations Generals Assembly in New York and conducting Military K-9 Demonstrations to civilian crowds that often exceeded several thousand people. Through that work, I gained a wealth of experience in public speaking and interacting with individuals from all backgrounds.
I deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 where I was attached to 3rd Battalion 5th Marine Division out of Camp Pendleton California. After returning home in 2011 from that deployment and receiving a 100% disability rating, I and my wife Lindsey decided to return to civilian life and begin our family.
Now, Lindsey and I along with our 4 kids -- Landon, Gunnar, Lane and Merritt --live back in Enterprise Oregon. I work for Wallowa County managing the Vegetation Department and serve as the Hunting/Fishing Program Director and Hunting Guide in Wallowa County for Cross the Divide. I also participate in the local 4-H program where our oldest two boys show lambs and are one of the leaders for the Archery Club, Coach our daughter’s softball team and served as new head coach for the Enterprise High School JV Football Team. I enjoy being an active member in the community, a role model for our next generation and giving back to the county that helped raise me.
