Story

Join us for a day of Golf and Fun, as you and three of your friends participate in an 18 Hole fundraiser to support children with autism who attend Center for Spectrum Services, a school for kids on the autism spectrum. From golfing, to great food, to awards, raffles, and more.

We'll start with a check-in lunch, followed by a shotgun start and an afternoon of golfing. Then, come sit down for a wonderful dinner prepared by Island Green's own chef and staff. Dinner, award ceremony, raffle prize drawings and an evening of fun.

Participation includes signing up your foursome, or perhaps selecting from one of our various sponsorships, or maybe simply purchasing Tee Signs. Click Donate & Tickets in the upper right to select your participation.

About the Skylar Classic

Skylar is a spirited, sociably inquisitive little girl who likes to make friends. Skylar is also the 1 in 36 children in our area diagnosed with autism. This could be a confusing time for any family, but Skylar's parents MIke and Kelly know she's getting the help she needs at Center for Spectrum Services, a school for Hudson Valley children on the autism spectrum. Skylar gets a classroom education, occupational and speech therapy, social skills lessons, and so much more.

Although Spectrum Services receives funding from local school districts who send their students, it's never enough to cover the full range of services and programming Skylar and her classmates receive. That's why Spectrum Services, a nonprofit school, must fundraise to fill that budget gap.

Organized by Skylar's mom and dad, the Skylar Classic Golf Tournament was created to bring the golfing community together to help raise funds to support children with autism.

About Center for Spectrum Services

Center for Spectrum Services is a nonprofit organization designed especially for children with autism. We are approved by the New York State Office of Education of Children with Disabling Conditions and the New York State Health Department.

Center for Spectrum Services serves as a model special education program. We are nationally recognized for our leadership in the field of educating students with autism. As such, we have attracted thousands of visitors, and have provided trainings and seminars for educators, clinicians, professionals, and families affected by autism. With two centrally-located campuses in Kingston and Ellenville, our outreach extends to children and families from 32 school districts throughout the Hudson Valley, including many students from the Kingston school district.

In addition to our educational programming, which is customized for each student, we also operate the Spectrum Services Outreach Services. Our Outreach Services provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for Autism Spectrum Disorders to children, adolescents and adults in the community. It also offers Social Skills Groups, individual counseling, and professional and family trainings and workshops.
