As Floridians faced their second major hurricane in just two weeks, the impacts of the climate crisis have never been clearer. After the devastation of Hurricane Helene, which claimed over 200 lives across the Southeast, Hurricane Milton barreled toward the Tampa Bay region of Florida after rapidly intensifying in the warm waters of the Gulf. This rapid intensification is directly linked to climate change caused by global warming, making it all the more urgent that we act now to reduce fossil fuel pollution.

At CLEO, we’re working on the front lines of climate education and advocacy to ensure that:

Florida communities are equipped with the knowledge and resources to prepare for the impacts of climate change.
Young leaders are empowered to drive climate action through our genCLEO program, creating a future where we prioritize climate justice and resilience.
