“Hello! DANEnet office. This is John Jordan.”

If you called DANEnet before 2019, there’s a good chance you talked to John P. Jordan. As one of our founders, he took the role of “traffic control” very seriously: answering phone calls, connecting with clients, and corralling the technicians who could help. Day after day, year after year, John generously gave his time and expertise to make a difference for nonprofits throughout our community.

After John passed away, his sister Anne wanted to honor his generous spirit and lifelong support of social justice. She started a recurring monthly gift to DANEnet that continues to this day. Each month, she honors her brother’s legacy by supporting digital equity.

Digital equity champions Wendy and Pete have pledged $100 for each new monthly donor (of ANY dollar amount) before the end of the year, up to $5,000!

We miss John’s cheery greetings on the other end of the phone, and we know he’d still be proud to share the work that DANEnet is doing: providing affordable tech supplies and support to the local nonprofits and households that need it most.

DANEnet’s Digital Equity Project is growing, too, bridging the digital divide for hundreds of low-income families and elders in Dane County. Donors like you help share important information about affordable internet options, offer free digital skills classes & clinics at local libraries, and distribute refurbished donated laptops to those households without a computer Together, WE ARE CHANGING LIVES by improving access to better jobs, education, health, and civic engagement. Seniors, people with disabilities, and veterans are less isolated, which can save their lives. We’d love your help with this important work.
