Scholarship funding is essential to ensure our athletes, many of whom face ongoing medical expenses and limited access to inclusive fitness, can consistently participate in individualized training that improves endurance, functional living skills, independence, and overall quality of life. These funds directly support athletes who are working to be the strongest, most confident versions of themselves, both in and out of the gym.

DASA’s Ability Gym furthers our mission of athlete empowerment by providing a fully adaptive, inclusive training environment designed to maximize physical ability and functional movement. Through personalized adaptive strength and conditioning programs, our athletes build muscular endurance, balance, coordination, and motor control, skills that directly translate to daily living tasks such as transfers, mobility, self-care, and community participation.

The DASA Adaptive Fitness & Exercise Rehabilitation program is specifically designed for individuals with physical disabilities. Our trained professionals meet each athlete where they are, adapting exercises and programs to support long-term physical health, emotional well-being, and independence.

Scholarship support allows our athletes to:

Improve endurance and functional strength needed for daily life
Focus on their abilities, not limitations
Gain confidence and independence through adaptive strength training
Train toward personal goals, including sport-specific performance and competitive aspirations
Build a supportive community that fosters courage, self-belief, and belonging

Our therapists and adaptive trainers customize each program to the athlete’s goals, whether that’s increased independence at home, improved endurance for work or school, or reaching the next level in adaptive or Para sport. DASA proudly supports individuals with physical disabilities including neuromusculoskeletal conditions (spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy), MS, MD, OI, EDS, stroke, limb loss or amputation, and short stature.
