DK-BEL: Bringing Inclusive Art to the World

Since our founding in Villiers-le-Bel, France, in 2004, DK-BEL has been committed to making art accessible to the most vulnerable audiences. Through our performances across France and beyond, we champion inclusivity and artistic expression for all.

Our work is guided by three fundamental principles:

Artistic Creation for ALL – Strengthening social connections through shared creativity.
Humanity at the Core – Placing people at the heart of every project to challenge perspectives.
A Global Artistic Network – Fostering collaboration and cultural exchange through art.

Expanding Our Reach

Recently, we established DK-BEL US Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to extend our mission to American audiences.

We have partnered with Roxane Butterfly, an acclaimed tap-dance choreographer with a deep history of artistic contributions in the U.S. and beyond. Fifteen years ago, Roxane faced the profound journey of raising her daughter, Zuly, who has Down syndrome. This experience led her to Paris, where she began creating performances showcasing Zuly’s talent—helping to dismantle stereotypes surrounding disability.

When DK-BEL and Roxane first crossed paths at the Fête de la Danse des Ballets de Monte Carlo, they realised the powerful impact they could have by joining forces.

A Growing Global Network

DK-BEL’s reach now extends across Europe and Africa, driving our mission through events, residencies, workshops, and training programmes. Roxane’s vast U.S. network, cultivated over years of collaborations, offers new opportunities to advance our shared vision.

Together, DK-BEL and Roxane Butterfly curate performances and workshops that promote accessibility, inclusion, and equality—using dance as a tool to foster awareness and increase participation for all.

Your support plays a vital role in expanding our work. We aim to bring a team of seven professionals to the APAP performing arts booking fair in January 2026, where we will engage with presenters, venues, and collaborators in inclusive dance.
