Final Push...Jacquie is getting her car!!!! FINALLY!
There is good news in our house! Jacquie will be having her first fitting in her new accessible vehicle on Tuesday, June 6th. This could not come at a better time and this level of independence will give her and Nas the ability to continue their lives together on their own :-).
The total cost of this vehicle is north of $120,000 (yikes!). With a lot of help from grants and state funds focused on workforce development and people with disabilities, the final cost to Jacquie is just over $36,000. Incredible, right?? If you are a person with a disability that needs reliable transportation for employment, please check into HireAbility. We can't say enough good things about them!
Due to the outpouring of support, the Wheels for Jacquie Foundation has raised $11,000 and all of those funds will be used toward a downpayment, leaving her with around $25,000 to finance. Not too bad...
Because so many reached out wanting to help Jacquie after the passing of our dear, sweet Moose, we thought we would put this opportunity up for just a few days. She has been approved for her car loan and would love to get the final amount closer to $20,000 that she needs to finance.
Our ultimate goal is $5,000, but honestly, we know that many of you have already given to this incredible life change, so there is no pressure. If you know of any businesses that might like to engage with a matching grant, we would love that, too!!
We will take this down on Sunday, June 4th at noon est. Thank you to all of those who have helped make this happen and to those of you who want to join us!!!
