DM Scholarship Fund - SE SEGWAY

These funds will be in support of SoulEscape's newest gap year program, SEGWAY. Our program is dedicated to empowering young artists who have graduated high school and are navigating the next steps in their creative journey. Through self-discovery, we encourage dancers to stay true to their unique voices while exploring diverse opportunities in the arts. We foster a supportive, tight-knit community where collaboration, growth, and artistic exploration are central. By offering guidance and encouraging openness, we aim to equip our artists with the confidence, tools, and network they need to pursue their passions, whether in dance or other creative avenues. Together, we embrace uncertainty as a path to limitless potential.

In 2011, we were blessed to have Deanna Mondello join the SoulEscape family. During her time with SE some of the company’s most memorable and impactful works were created and shared. Dee was as powerful as she was graceful, and she always chose to use her strength to empower those around her. She would peek into your soul, pick out the most useful parts of you, and then point them out for you to stand on. She was thoughtful and always willing to contribute. Equally vulnerable and wise, she adamantly joined the pursuit to allow the art form of dance to be a vessel for inspiration and goodness for SoulEscape students and audiences. Connecting with young artists in the most honest and vulnerable ways possible was her natural mission. There will never be another soul as naturally gifted, unabashedly authentic, and genuinely supportive as our beloved Dee. 

Since her sudden passing, we have honored her in our work and held tight to cherished traditions. All donations to this fund will be used solely for scholarships awarded to young dancers who emulate Dee's passion for dance, genuine heart and vibrant soul. These funds will give them an opportunity to experience the loving, creative environment that is SoulEscape, Dee's forever dance family.
