When Rokas left New York City behind to pursue Osteopathic Medicine at ACOM, his love for dance followed. His passion for dance took root in ballroom competitions in 2015—his first year of studying Biology at Stony Brook University. The following year, he became the Stony Brook Ballroom Dance Team’s Dance Captain in order to choreograph ballroom performances for dozens of functions at his university. He then pursued different styles of dance by joining the Indian Graduate Student Association to perform Bollywood while earning his M.A. in Bioethics. His opportunities for performing were suddenly limited when COVID-19 hit, but this has only made him more eager to impress a new audience here in Dothan.
