I am blessed to have the opportunity to participate in this amazing event to benefit Shriners Children’s and their efforts. I am a former Shriner and have seen the amazing miracles they perform daily—not only in Springfield but across the world.
I am committed to this wonderful event so that the Shriners, doctors, nurses, and support staff can continue their mission. These people are unquestionably spiritual warriors, answering God’s call and working through Him, performing miracles.
I lost most of my eyesight in 1987. What a blessing. This disease led me to Christ. It filled me with determination to push forward like never before and to be mindful and empathetic to all in need.
My dedication to those in need has grown as opportunities present themselves—whether that be the physically disabled, homeless, or incarcerated, no matter the challenge.
As a member of an Orthodox Church, I became involved with the National Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM). It had been a desire of mine to become involved with those incarcerated for many years, but I had no idea how to proceed. One day, the Holy Spirit sent me a messenger from the OCPM, and I was able to start a Prison Ministry at my church. The parishioners have shown tremendous support for this ministry.
I grew up in a small town in central Vermont, excelling in sports and music. I was a Second Team All-American in soccer, an All-State trombone player, and an All-State Choir member. I attended American International College and received my bachelor’s in nursing.
Six months after passing my nursing board exams, I joined the USAF as a 2nd Lieutenant. I was assigned to the Cardiac Intensive Care and Surgical Care Units, later transferring to the base operating room as an OR nurse.
After my discharge, I returned to Springfield, where I met my wife of 33 years.
Currently, my passion for helping those who are challenged has led me to a career at the Willie Ross School for the Deaf, an incredible organization that is compassionate, caring, and dedicated to its students. I am currently learning sign language and enjoying every minute of my new career.

Please consider donating to my efforts in support of Shriners Children’s. I hope that if you do not donate to my efforts, you will still consider donating to the Shriners. Money is just one way to contribute—Shriners are always looking for talented individuals to volunteer. As a former volunteer, I can tell you that it is an honor to be associated with this organization.
God Bless You
