Hello! My name is Mari Sam, and I am a 13-year-old 8th grader at Longfellow Academy. I am excited to share my journey with you as I prepare for an amazing opportunity in Kenya.
Since the beginning, I have been a dedicated member of Mor Girls with Goals, a program that has inspired me to embrace my ambitions and strive for excellence. Through this initiative, I have learned valuable skills in leadership, self-advocacy, and community service, all of which have helped me grow into a confident and empowered young woman.
This year, I proudly served as the student body secretary at my school, where I learned the importance of collaboration and responsibility. I also play on my middle school's undefeated basketball team, which has taught me the value of teamwork and perseverance.
In addition to my school activities, I have been a committed Girl Scout since 2020, for over five years. This experience has allowed me to engage in community service, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships.
Looking ahead, I will be attending Compton Early College in the upcoming school year, where I hope to further my education and prepare for my dream of becoming a nurse. I am passionate about helping others and making a difference in my community.
I am grateful for the support of those around me, and I look forward to the adventures that lie ahead in Kenya!
Thank you for being part of my journey!
