The Workshop Theater champions diverse and underrepresented voices by providing and supporting playwrights in creating new theatrical stories that reframe familiar narratives, explore innovative forms, and connect meaningfully with audiences.

Through four core programs—Words Matter, Workshop Intensives, Workshop Labs, and Out of the Hat—we provide space, mentorship, and community for playwrights to craft bold new plays. We open doors for artists who may not otherwise have access, helping them develop their work and bring unheard perspectives to the stage.
