Hello! I'm Seoyeon Ahn. I'm asking for any support you can give to help me attend LSM this summer.

As a violin student, it has always been my desire to challenge myself and grow in my musicality. I am eager to learn and cannot wait for the experience of being a part of a camp dedicated to music. I am this music camp will provide me with a much fuller and more insightful experience than weekly rehearsals and lessons. When, I was first introduced to Lutheran Summer Music by Dr. Kevin Sütterlin, the director of my city’s Northern Valley Youth Orchestra (NVYO), it was as if I found the missing piece in my music life. Everything the program offers, from private lessons to group rehearsals to music classes, sparked a new want for a depth of learning I have yet to experience.

Having been a violin player in my church’s praise team for two years, it has always been my joy to have the talent to praise with music. I am certain that LSM will not only allow me to grow in my musical abilities but also will inspire me to grow in my spiritual walk with God.

For this four-week academy, I'm hoping to raise $1,495. LSM also offers a Match Grant of 50% to the funds I raise here, but the deadline is May 15! After that, they won't match funds I raise, but your support still helps me defray my costs. Thank you for your support!

Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM) is the nation’s premier faith-based music academy for high school students. In addition to advanced musical instruction and numerous performance opportunities, LSM students form an intentional community, living together for four weeks on a Lutheran college campus. Since 1981, this unique and immersive program has guided the lives of young musicians who credit LSM as the starting place for their future careers and vocations.

LSM was founded to celebrate and extend the rich musical heritage of the Lutheran church. Our founders believed that by providing high-quality training and performance opportunities to young musicians they could cultivate a lifelong love of classical and sacred music, thus preserving these art forms for generations to come.
