Become a Camp Sponsor! The Diller Home operates for 8 weeks each summer and hosts blind and visually impaired children at our beautiful home in Avalon, NJ. It costs approximately $1,500 to send each one of these children to a week of camp at The Home. Please consider sponsoring a child, a camp activity, or supplies for the season by clicking "Sponsor a Backpack" at the top of the page to see the different camp activities available for sponsorship.
Story
The Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children has been providing an all expense paid week of summer camp to blind and visually impaired children since 1972. Support of the Home is provided by volunteerism, foundation grants, general donations and community organizations. It costs approximately $1,500 to sponsor one camper for a one-week vacation at the Home. Key benefactors include Tim Kerr Charities, Inc., the Avalon Lions Club, and The William G. and Helen C. Hoffman foundation. The Home is a NJ Lions International District 16C supported project. Together, our benefactors make it possible for each camper to enjoy a summer vacation at no cost to their families.
