Our goal is to bring diverse authors and creators to our school to engage with our students, inspiring creativity, empowering critical thinking, and affirming their place in the world and our community.

This Spring: Middle-grade fantasy author Esme Symes-Smith will be visiting Edmonds Heights on May 19th & 20th to share the magic of Sir Callie and the Champions of Helston. As an avid FanFic writer, Esme believes in the power of fantasy as a way to get through hard times. They describe their debut novel as “A fun adventure mixed with a heavy story about fighting bigotry and abuse, where winning doesn’t always feel like winning but the triumphs are worth striving for. Ride-and-Die friendships, messy recovery and heaps of righteous indignation! Also biscuits (the British kind), first crushes, and dragons!” The fight for a better world that Callie and friends face was Esme’s own reminder that as long as there is hope, those who try to crush us cannot win. They want readers to know that bravery takes many forms, and that however they’re feeling, whatever they’re capable of right now, they are enough.

Shipping is $5 flat rate within the U.S.

2) Make a donation toward our author and event funds.

You can remove the tip to support Givebutter — this doesn't affect our campaign.
