Why Have a Block Party?

The Sycamore neighborhood is considered underdeveloped and blighted due to its aging infrastructure, vacant or deteriorating buildings, and limited economic investment. These conditions have led to reduced property values and diminished quality of life for residents. * Blighted in this context means to have a harmful effect on residents.

Mission Statement

A neighbnor-powered block party design to foster positive community growth in an 'under developed and blighted' area. Inpsired by the City of Albuquerque’s MRA Block Party Grant.

2– 7 pm MST - sunset
Between 20-10 Ash St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. Behind the Central United Methodist Church

Block Party Activities

Harvest Food Pantry: Pop-up food bank with donated produce, shelf stable foods and other items.
Arts and Crafts Table: Station dedicated to creating art with free supplies and for all ages.
Games & Fun: Outdoor games, yard games, fun activities for all ages.
Local Bazaaer: Neighborhood based vendors and information on local resources and/or businesses. \

• Notes: 2–3 guards for 6 hours; volunteers or police may reduce cost

• Notes: Covers all booth and group art project supplies; includes neighbor requests

Meal (Community Dinner)
• Cost: $1,000–$3,000
