Carla is a US Army veteran who also served 8 years in law enforcement after her military career. She is a survivor of Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and suffers from PTSD as a result of that experience. Through no fault of her own, Carla has been waiting 3+ years for a service dog to provide PTSD and mobility assistance.
What is the delay?
Thanks to the generosity of dog sponsors and donors, our service dogs are donated to veterans and first responders. However, most dog sponsors have preferences about who their dog is donated to, which can include residing in a specific geography or coming from a particular type of service. Unfortunately, we haven't found a sponsor fit for Carla, who recently moved from New England to Florida.
So we are turning to the greater defense community for help raising the $27,000 needed to get Carla a service dog. Would you or your organization consider stepping up? Any donation amount will help!
As a donor, if we raise the needed funds, you can help name the dog, and you will receive a picture and update on it.
We know this is a big ask. But Carla deserves it for serving her country and her community.
All donations are tax-deductible (IRS 501(C)3 Non-Profit Registration #: 27-2667123)
