It is almost my 59th birthday AND Valentine's Day (which is probably why I wear my heart on my sleeve). Time for me to appreciate my smile lines, sparkly hair and golden years! Let’s celebrate together.

First, let’s talk about Valentine’s Day. It is fun for some and difficult for others. However, maybe this will be your best Valentine’s Day yet. Why? Because this year I invite you to think of it differently. Spread kindness and give to others. Your joy will multiply. So, do you need an idea of something to do? If you really know me, you aren’t surprised that I would have a proposal for you!

Remember the gift bags in school and others put valentine cards in them for you? There was always that one that special card, or better yet, a box of conversation hearts. Still a favorite of mine. Thinking about the delight of giving to others and then opening those bags of cards still brings such joy. Here is my idea for you: I’d like to invite you to donate to Safe Passage as your valentine card for our abused children.

I support and believe in what Safe Passage is doing for our abused children. At Safe Passage, the child sees a detective, a nurse, an advocate, social services and more. At the same time, they give the children a voice, support their healing process, and help strengthen their spirit so they can be a child again. Their valentine card is the gift of HOPE and EMPOWERMENT!
