Disaster Creates Opportunity

On the weekend of January 15th-17th Foothill Pregnancy Center was flooded. The damage was significant enough for us to evaluate our next steps to reopen. With many other homes, businesses and organizations affected by the same series of storms, insurance companies are backlogged with claims. Our center would potentially be closed for months. We decided to start looking for another location. Through two weeks of searching, we found an incredible fit for us.

With our Realtor and lender, we are in the process of pursuing a property to purchase. This property checks most of our wants and needs boxes.

The location is next to medical offices
It's in our preferred area
It has convenient and discrete access
There is enough space to operate
There is a welcoming entrance
The interior has a warm and comfortable feel
It's nearly ready to move into
We've been looking to purchase for some time

The property is affordable and by purchasing we can control our costs better and gain an asset that strengthens our organization. Lease rates are ever-increasing and the mortgage on the new property would be below what we are currently paying.

This is where you can help! We need to fund our down payment. Needing a nonprofit, commercial loan, we are looking at 30% down or $90,000. The amazing thing right now is that through the Sonora Area Foundation we already have a commitment of $22,000 toward that goal! That may go higher as well.
