The Children's Collection Bus Fund

The Children’s Collection (TCC) is a nonprofit corporation based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our mission as a library and museum is to acquire, preserve, provide access to, and showcase literary works, artistic endeavors, and inventions created by children. Our vision is to let kids inspire kids.

Scratch the surface of how works by children have literally changed the world, and you find they have made indelible marks on science, medicine, the arts, technology, business, and philanthropy. Articles sometimes appear about these remarkable kids, but what if they were all collected and showcased together? Wouldn't that be empowering for children?

TCC houses works from all over the world as a way to connect these stories and show people the potential in anyone, even the very young, to generate ideas and see them through. Ideas that have a huge impact, locally or globally.

Currently, we operate as a popup exhibit. People of all ages are astonished and inspired by what kids from all walks of life can achieve and, thanks to the excellent reception and encouragement we receive, we're raising money to turn a school bus into a mobile library and exhibit. We will take it to schools, communities, markets, festivals, and wherever else children could use some inspiration and optimism and confidence.

Ultimately, a permanent space will allow children to lead programming if they are so inclined, whether it be putting on a film festival for movies by kids, tutoring each other, brainstorming together, or solving problems in any field.
