Please join us on Tuesday, November 29th, for Giving Tuesday in support of St. Christopher School! Created in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

For generations, St. Christopher School has continuously built on a tradition of excellence, guiding students to become young men and women of competence, integrity, and compassion. Although our school is thriving, we are faced with the reality of a widespread decline in Catholic school enrollment. In 1965, the WNY area had 181 Catholic elementary schools. In 2022, only 35 of those schools remain. As one of those 35 schools, we need YOUR help to ensure our continued success.

One of the pillars of St. Christopher School is to provide a high-quality education while keeping tuition affordable. To that end, the school must fundraise the difference between the actual cost of education per student and the tuition rate per student. For the current school year, the average cost of education per pupil is approximately $6,500.00. With a current tuition rate of $4,100.00, the school must raise the remaining $2,400.00 per student. Historically, the Parish has subsidized 20-25% of the school budget; however, between 2010 and 2021, parishes across WNY saw a 61.2% decline in average weekly attendance. This decline renders many parishes, including our own, unable to provide the generous subsidy of prior years.

While these statistics are concerning, our commitment to this school and its success is unwavering. St. Christopher School has a strong, vibrant community, full of families who are dedicated to our mission. Our teachers are deeply invested, displaying a selfless devotion to the greater good, and creating a loving and supportive environment for our children to thrive. Our students are remarkable individuals, who amaze us with their kindness, intelligence, and leadership every day.

This Giving Tuesday, we are asking you to get ready to make YOUR impact. Every gift you make will directly support emergency tuition, educational development, teacher retention, athletics, and other school activities. Donations will be accepted beginning at 5:00pm on Saturday, November 26th, and ending on Wednesday, November 30th, at 12:00pm.

Best of all, if we meet our fundraising goals, our students stand to earn some fun rewards:

• If we raise $3,000.00, students will earn a school-wide Christmas pajama party, complete with a hot chocolate bar, popcorn, and a movie!

• If we raise $5,000.00, in addition to the pajama party, students will earn a dance party with a DJ!
