Meet Ron

Ron has been incarcerated for three years. His daughter, Ry, is five. “Really everything with her is my favorite memory,” he says. “Taking her to the park, just being there as a father.”

When he heard about the Father-Daughter Dance, Ron says he was excited: “It gave me the chance to get back to my daughter, to see her again and do things with her.” The dance will be especially meaningful because he hasn’t seen her since 2022. “It’s overwhelming,” he says. “Just having that moment after three years apart will be the best feeling.”

Ron says his daughter is his whole world. “She comes first before everybody. Fatherhood means everything — putting myself to the side to focus on her, to put her before anything.” He stays connected through calls and letters and looks forward to the moment he sees her dressed up: “I probably won’t even be able to describe it. It’s going to mean everything.”
