EARTH: Join us for Pilates & Conditioning with Haylee

About the Session:
In this Pilates & Conditioning Class we will focus on the oppositional forces of energy in the body to find fluidity and establish a grounding sensation in the body. Pilates is the base for this class and we will pull ideas, images, and movements from dance and other somatic practices to enhance and deepen our experience.

About Haylee Nichele:
Haylee was born and raised in Port Alberni, BC. She started her professional training with Arty Gordon at Arts Umbrella. She continued her studies at the Juilliard School where she graduated in 2011 and received her BFA. In New York, Haylee has danced and toured with Kate Watson Wallace, Brian Brooks, Adam Barruch, and the Met Opera. In LA, she has danced and toured for Clairobscur, Heidi Duckler Dance, Janet Roston, and BODYTRAFFIC.

In addition to her dancing career, Haylee has extensive experience working in theater, teaching and choreographing. Sharing her love of immersive theatre work, dance, and community is her goal. Exposing audiences to a new ways of receiving story and interacting with performers is her mission.

About Garden Kitchen Lab:
Garden Kitchen Lab is a backyard-to-table, science-based, hands-on educational experience for children in NYC's underserved communities. We have programs in Brooklyn (Crown Heights, Sunset Park, Greenpoint), the Bronx (Fordham Manor and soon Hunt's Point) and Manhattan (Inwood). Our program was specifically designed for children, combining urban agriculture, culinary and STEAM disciplines. The curriculum has been shaped over the last 5 years with feedback from the children and educators’ transformative experiences. They tell us that the ‘magic’ of Garden Kitchen Lab instills a love of nature and healthy food, as children experience working with the garden and its produce throughout the seasons.
