Hello church family, 17 months ago I was called into the mission field down in Vicente Guerrero, Mexico alongside one of our mission partners (My360) and a few other of our fellow Lifepoint brothers and sisters. I didn’t have any plans for it, nor did I seek it out but I was in a season where I was wanting the lord to call me into something life changing and amazing and I wanted to be that yes man for the Father. Needless to say I was fired up and ready to go down and make an impact! Little did I know that God had other plans. Though I do believe we are making an impact down there, being vessels for the love of Christ to pour through us, it was actually me that God wanted to change. I saw so many heartbreaking things in Vicente Guerrero and yet experienced so much joy at the same time. Having the opportunity to wash the feet of these precious little children and then place socks and shoes on their feet as you tickle their little toes was one of those joyous moments. It’s amazing how spiritually fulfilled we can be when we are doing something so humbling. How can I not think about Jesus when he was washing the feet of his disciples. The God of the universe came down to the lowest and washed the feet of his followers. Jesus gave us an example of what it looks like to love and serve one another. It’s in those moments when we have surrendered everything and simply choose to love that God can do the most through us. There was other not so pleasant experiences as well but looking back they were experiences that I absolutely had to go through in order for God to strengthen my character and make me more like Christ. To be able to choose forgiveness, to live unoffended and to pursue love even in the face of persecution no matter how mild or how heavy it is. The short season following that trip was hard but it was worth it because I came out of it stronger and more focused on Christ then I have ever been. It’s crazy to think that I’m now being called down to Vicente Guerrero again and this time to lead a team.
