Edward J. VanSciver Memorial Merit Award
Deserving students will be selected to receive the Edward J. VanSciver Memorial Merit Award, a $500 honor presented to a high school senior in Burlington County, New Jersey. This award recognizes students who have shown exceptional commitment to their school or community through volunteerism and who are actively engaged in, or preparing for, a future as a first responder. Your donation will help fund this meaningful award and ensure that Ed’s legacy continues to inspire young leaders in public service.
Created in tribute to Edward J. VanSciver, the award reflects his lifelong devotion to public service. As a U.S. Navy veteran, volunteer firefighter, auxiliary police officer, and longtime member of multiple emergency response teams, Ed embodied the spirit of service. This award carries forward his legacy by encouraging and supporting the next generation of civic-minded first responders.
Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors with a passing GPA who have demonstrated meaningful involvement in community or school service, as well as a clear interest in fire service, EMS, law enforcement, or public safety.
