Hello Community!
Summer is one of WellFed's busiest seasons — and one of the most important. As the sun rises higher, so does the need for fresh food, hands-on learning, and spaces to gather. Our Kinship Free Markets, educational programming, and community garden initiatives are in full swing — and we need your help to keep them thriving.
To ensure the success of our programs this summer, we're seeking the following items:
Scratch and Dent Commercial Fridge – $2,000
A reliable fridge will allow us to store and distribute fresh produce, ensuring it reaches our community members in optimal condition.
Market Tents – $1,000
These tents will provide shade and shelter during our outdoor events, making our markets more comfortable and accessible for all.
Outdoor Storage – $500
Secure storage will help us keep our equipment organized and protected, ensuring smooth operations at our events.
Reusable Ice Packs + Trays – $100
Essential for maintaining the temperature of prepared foods, these will help us keep distributions stocked with safe, healthy options.
Every donation, big or small, plays a crucial role in our programs:
Kinship Free Markets: By supporting our markets, you're helping us distribute over 300,000 pounds of food annually to approximately 7,500 families, ensuring they have access to fresh produce and pantry staples.
Educational Programming: Your contributions enable us to offer interactive cooking classes and food demonstrations that teach individuals of all ages about nutrition, sustainability, and food systems.
Community Gardens: Donations help us maintain our gardens, like the one in Ybor City, where community members can learn to grow their own food, fostering food sovereignty and resilience.
Your support helps us create a collaborative, engaging model that addresses food insecurity in a way that feeds the body and mind. Together, we can make food make sense and build a healthier, more connected community.
With gratitude,
The WellFed Community Team
