Education Is Key is a Black-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Nicole "NeeKKo" Lindsey, a first-generation college graduate with a passion for promoting equity and access in education. Since its founding, Education Is Key has provided over 40 scholarships to students from low-income, inner-city communities. Our programs focus on mentorship, financial literacy, leadership development, and academic support for students aged 14-18.
Through a combination of scholarships, mentorship, and culturally relevant education, Education Is Key works to bridge the racial gap in education and career pathways, ensuring that students have the resources and support they need to succeed.
Campaign Goal: To raise funds for scholarships, mentorship programs, and educational resources that support underrepresented youth from Black, Brown, and underserved communities. Our goal is to provide 50+ scholarships this year and expand our mentorship and leadership programs to empower the next generation of leaders and changemakers.
Our F.U.B.U. model (For Us, By Us) means that funds raised by the community are reinvested directly into the community. Every dollar you give supports a student in need from your own community. This approach allows us to create a cycle of support, growth, and empowerment for our youth.
