ABOUT OUR PROJECT

The heroic commanders and career officers in the IDF’s elite Egoz unit have been working without rest since October 7 to secure and defend Israel. Their critical mission has left little time for visits home or meaningful, fun-filled family activities.

The commander of the Egoz, a friend of Smiles For The Kids, was severely wounded when responding to the October 7 terrorist attack. During his four months recovering in the hospital, Smiles For The Kids stepped in to support his family, visiting them in their home and providing toys for his children. Upon his release from the hospital, the Egoz commander returned to unit, and is now fighting on the war’s new frontline, deep inside Gaza.

But he is not the only one working hard to secure the Jewish state. While our brave men and women fight a multi-front war across Israel, wives and mother’s are fighting on the home front to keep their communities together and keep their children feeling safe and comforted. That is why we are teaming up with the commander’s wife to sponsor a fun-filled family carnival day for the entire Egoz unit, as a small token of our gratitude for their sacrifice and service.

Hosted at an undisclosed park in Israel, the Egoz Unit Carnival will provide much needed relief and family fun for the soldiers in attendance, as well as for those families who father’s and sons remain embedded in the fight and thus cannot return home.
