My name is Addie, and this summer I am planning to return to LSM (Lutheran Summer Music) after loving my time last year!

I absolutely love performing and music. At my school, I participate in almost every single musical extracurricular that is offered. Some of my favorites include pep band, our accapella caroling group, show choir, and marching band where I am currently the drum major. However, even will all of the success I have found within my musical journey, it is very difficult to stay motivated to continue to pursue this passion. My school, while amazing in so many aspects, doesn’t share my level of passion for music. Thankfully, LSM is different from my school.

When I attended last year, I could not have possibly imagined there would be so many people who enjoyed every aspect of music as much as I do. That is one of the main reasons I’m so excited to attend this year. This year at LSM, I am hoping to prepare for college a lot more than I did last year. Finishing my junior year, college is 100% at the forefront of my mind and feeling prepared to go into a musical field is really important to me. Any amount of support would be so greatly appreciated!

Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM) is the nation’s premier faith-based music academy for high school students. In addition to advanced musical instruction and numerous performance opportunities, LSM students form an intentional community, living together for four weeks on a Lutheran college campus. Since 1981, this unique and immersive program has guided the lives of young musicians who credit LSM as the starting place for their future careers and vocations.

LSM was founded to celebrate and extend the rich musical heritage of the Lutheran church. Our founders believed that by providing high-quality training and performance opportunities to young musicians they could cultivate a lifelong love of classical and sacred music, thus preserving these art forms for generations to come.
