At In Flight, Inc., we empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach for their hopes and dreams and support a meaningful quality of life.

We believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to live a meaningful life, filled with purpose and independence. One of the ways In Flight is trying to empower people with intellect and developmental disabilities (I/DD), is by knocking down the barriers that lead to a purposeful and independent life. However, we cannot do it alone.

Living with a disability presents a financial burden that significantly impacts the quality of life for individuals with I/DD. This financial strain is especially pronounced when compared to those without disabilities. As a result, the idea of affording the luxuries of a vacation or engaging in recreational hobbies can seem like an unattainable dream for many. This is where the significance of community integration becomes evident. Community integration is not merely about leisure; it is about fostering inclusion and offering opportunities for personal growth and development. Engaging in community activities enables people with I/DD to build vital socialization skills, nurture meaningful relationships, explore their unique interests, and enhance their communication abilities. It also plays a crucial role in reducing behavioral challenges.

In Flight acknowledges these barriers and are addressing them by providing essential resources to our program participants. However, we need your support further our vision and make it a reality. Our ambitious goal is to raise $75,000, which will be dedicated to advancing our program participants potential, lead a purposeful life, and be as independent as possible: 

1. Meaningful Experiences: Your donations will enable the people we support to enjoy meaningful experiences with their peers that they may not otherwise have been able to afford. This can include going bowling, to see a sports game, going to a show, participating in an event or conference, and even taking a trip.

2. Art Production Equipment: Community integration is not just confined to physical experiences, it also means allowing a virtual space to be present for those with I/DD. For over a year, Tea Time with TC has been in production - a talk show podcast and Youtube show created by one of our individuals. With your help, we can grow not only the production of her show, but other people we supports dreams of sharing their voice with the virtual world as well.

3. Special Olympics Sports Equipment: Engaging in sports is not only beneficial physically but for social growth as well. Not only do we have our very own Basketball team for the people we directly support and others with I/DD in our community, but we also have many individuals who participate on their own via bowling, track, and more. Your donation can help us purchase needed equipment for our Basketball team, but grow our Special Olympic sport reach to accommodate other interests.
