Norma Jean 2025 Sponsorship

Norma was given to Gentle Acres by a concerned owner whose partner had passed and she did not want Norma to end up at the now shuttered Joshua Tree Tortoise rescue because of the abuse and neglect. We were entrusted with her care a few years ago and she remains a favorite with visitors because of her sweet and social nature. 

Norma’s favorite foods include bell peppers, chayote squash, and dandelion greens. She will always emerge if she hears people about and love to come say hello. We upgraded her enclosure this year to include an insulated den with temperature control and cameras to ensure she stays toasty all winter. 

Tortoises can live over 100 years, so we will likely not be Norma’s last caretakers, but we look forward to many many many MANY years with sweet Norma. 

Sponsoring Norma helps cover her monthly food and supplement costs. Any additional funds raised for Norma go into the vet fund and/or enclosure maintenance.
