Workshop

Endemic posits that therapists and healers hold an essential role in society. They help individuals understand “what the world is” in their own terms and integrate the past into the present. However, this task becomes challenging if the present feels unstable or unknown. Once all of a person's parts are integrated, the authentic, generative self is made whole, and the world of possibilities opens up before them.

There's a prevailing trend where therapy inadvertently encourages people to become trapped in their thoughts. This workshop focuses on theory and clinical practice to prevent this. Instead, it promotes the channeling of individual energies into meaningful actions that enhance their personal lives and their capacity to contribute to their communities.

In this workshop, Bonnitta Roy will preview her training material in Endemic’s collective for licensed therapists, coaches, and other therapeutic practitioners on why therapy needs a revolution and what new frameworks and practices therapists can bring to their clients to liberate aligned, powerful action.

Drawing on the work of theorists and clinicians including Jaak Panksepp and Diana Fosha, as well as contemplative traditions, over this three-hour workshop Bonnie will explore transforming therapeutic support from Psyche to Action, including:

The history of how therapy became too inward focused
Inquiries and practices for moving from grief to care, rage to play, and dread to curiosity
How to help clients move their energies into discovering and developing unique skills and interests
Ways to maintain interest and energy as a therapeutic practitioner
The role of the therapist in supporting the individual contributions to meaningful communities.

Essentially, feelings are positive in that they indicate potential. It's beneficial to recognize and cultivate these streams of emotion. Each of us has a set of inherent feeling states which form a pattern that we can enhance into the most suitable responses for any situation. This is particularly evident when working in healing modalities.

Layman Pascal, a philosopher and historian of religion, meditation teacher, and author, will join in conversation with Bonnie to discuss the relationship between inner and outer work and how to do inner work in a way that supports real outer work as well.

This gathering is for anyone who has interest in social dynamics and is especially focused on folks who want to offer more effective and consistent healing to their communities. After the workshop we will all gather and enjoy a meal together. People are welcome to bring things, but everything is also provided.

For almost all of human history shamans, witches, medicine people, magicians, priests and priestesses, etc. cultivated their communities’ civic spirit, inner development, cultural innovation, and inspired mutuality with the natural world. Today, despite having been largely unrecognized, untrained, and socially persecuted over the last several thousand years, people with shamanistic tendencies still have a vital role to play in reinvigorating their communities’ depth and potency. This workshop and dinner is a preview into Endemic’s Collective of Shamanistic Practitioners.

Endemic posits that Therapists are uniquely suited to support our communities to become appropriately aware of the conditions of our world such that agency includes more integrated and heart-centered choice. This Collective supports therapists’s work with individuals to heal and prepare for meaningful responsibility in their communities. Endemic qualifies and trains therapists in the Collective, produces immersive digital courses for therapists to use with clients to empower their sessions, assesses the readiness and needs of clients, and matches them with the best fit therapists.
