Our New Furnace Campaign

Hello Friends of Corbin,

We are a Non-Profit 501c3 Senior Center located in the Emerson/Garfield community. We have over 1400 members, and we serve 17 different zip codes.  Our building is an important gathering place for many of our seniors, card groups, dance groups, recovery groups, Foodies groups, and a Mariade of other programing to help support the needs of our seniors. We are calling out for help!

Our current furnace at Corbin Senior Activity Center is on its very last legs. It has become outdated and inefficient, and increasingly unreliable. During the last month it no longer provided consistent heating and cooling throughout the building, leading to discomfort for our seniors who rely on a safe warm/cool environment. Rising repair costs and frequent maintenance calls are draining resources that could otherwise support programs and services.

Furnace is over its lifespan.

Maintenance records show 4 service calls over the past year and the most recent bill came in at 1500.00.

Utility bills have increased by 13.8%, reflecting the units declining efficiency.

Spokane Fires, and now moving into cooler months, our indoor air quality can drop below safe indoor temperatures, creating potential health risks for seniors, especially those with respiratory or circulation issues.

After 3 bids, we are told that an energy efficient model will ensure consistent heat, reduce energy cost and create a safer, and more comfortable environment.

Please support, our seniors love their community and look forward to the many activities going on here at Corbin. If you are able this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Claudia Ouwerkerk
