The strength of Mulvane lies in its history—our deep roots—and the promise of a vibrant future for every person who calls this community home. The Mulvane Community Foundation (MCF)and Mulvane Recreation Commission is launching the Downtown ADA Improvement Campaign to ensure that the physical structure of our town matches the generous spirit of our people.

The Challenge: A Path of Barriers

Our downtown is a destination, but for many, navigating it is an unnecessary struggle. Outdated infrastructure, crumbling sidewalks, and non-compliant curb ramps create literal and figurative barriers for neighbors using wheelchairs, parents pushing strollers, seniors with mobility challenges, and delivery drivers. This is not the welcoming, accessible Mulvane we want to be.

The Solution: Three Phases to Seamless Access

Working with the City of Mulvane, we have a strategic plan, outlined in the Preliminary Engineering Report, to fully revitalize our downtown access points. This project will be completed in three critical phases:

Phase 1: Prioritized Safety: Public Spaces and those that cater to our Senior population
Phase 2: Core Commerce Enhancement: Focusing on the main commercial blocks, this phase installs new, seamless curb ramps and sidewalks to connect key businesses, parking, and public spaces, directly boosting customer access.
Phase 3: Extended Connectivity: The final phase will ensure the entire downtown area meets the highest accessibility standards, creating a truly unified and barrier-free district.

Your Role: Investing in Our Local Match

The City of Mulvane is aggressively pursuing major state and federal grants to fund the bulk of this project. However, to receive this crucial grant money, we must first demonstrate our local commitment by securing a local financial match.

For Donations up to $250: Please make your gift directly via our website or by check.

For Donations Exceeding $250: We kindly request that you submit a Letter of Support accompanying your financial commitment. These official letters are invaluable, as they serve as powerful evidence of community commitment and significantly strengthen our overall grant application.

Grant Contingency:

We want to assure our donors that we are fully committed to this project's success. However, in the unlikely event that the City of Mulvane does not receive the intended grant funding for this project, all funds raised for the ADA Improvement Campaign will be transferred to the Mulvane Community Foundation's General Account. This ensures your generous donation remains in Mulvane, growing perpetually to support the community's most critical needs, programs, and future projects.
