What's better than queer books or some tasty taiyaki? What about having both under the same roof?? That's right, Common Ground Books and Toasty Taiyaki want to find a new home TOGETHER!

Common Ground Books has entered it's third year of business and is looking to grow. Our lease at 128 Bronough is up February 28, 2025. While we have loved our time in that cozy house, we are looking to move to a larger location where we can add a cafe with yummy drinks and treats and to welcome Toasty Taiyaki into the fold with a more permanent location (don't worry, they'll still have their food truck too).

But we need your help to make it possible. We have found a location at 1102 S. Adams Street, Tallahassee that would support Common Ground Books, the Common Ground Gender Affirming Closet, and Toasty Taiyaki. But moving is expensive. Plus we would need some extra kitchen equipment, some murals painted by local artists, some more bookshelves, etc. A deposit, and an overlapping month of rent.

We were hoping to raise $25,000 to help cover these costs plus more which will inevitably pop up, but after more consideration, we believe 10,000 should cover everything. Anyone who donates $50 or more will be invited to a private soft-opening celebration at our new location before our grand opening in 2025. And anyone who donates $100 or more will get invited to the private soft-opening plus be entered to win a free book a month for 12 months from CGB AND 2 free taiyakis a month for 12 months from Toasty. (That's a $400+ value!)

We don't need to tell you how important having queer safe spaces are right now, and we want to make this space a haven for the community for years to come.
