Giving Tuesday at Soil and Soul

About Us

The Institute of Soil & Soul is a regenerative farm and educational center in Long Grove, Illinois dedicated to nourishing people, restoring the land, and revitalizing Jewish agricultural wisdom. Through food production, community partnerships, educational programs, and cultural experiences rooted in the rhythms of the earth, we bring people into deeper relationship with the land, with one another, and with Jewish tradition. Our work sits at the intersection of environmental stewardship, food justice, and spiritual connection.

Help Us Grow What Truly Matters This Giving Tuesday

Support regenerative agriculture, Jewish environmental education, and food justice in our community.

At the Institute of Soil & Soul, we believe that nourishing people and healing the land are inseparable. This Giving Tuesday, your generosity helps us grow more food for families in need, expand our educational programs, and build the infrastructure required to serve thousands more visitors each year.

Our Impact This Year

This year has been defined by growth, community partnership, and measurable impact:

  • 10,000 pounds of regenerative organic produce grown and donated directly to The Ark, providing fresh, nutrient-dense food to families experiencing food insecurity.

  • 739 new students welcomed to our farm for experiential learning rooted in regenerative agriculture and Jewish wisdom.

  • 30 organizations hosted, including schools, synagogues, service groups, and community partners.

  • Two Farm-to-Table Shabbat dinners that brought people together for celebration, reflection, and seasonal food.

  • Successful pilot of our Branches of Learning curriculum with Hebrew day schools and synagogues, setting the stage for expansion next year.

This momentum is only possible because of supporters like you.

Our Vision for 2026

Your gift this Giving Tuesday directly fuels our next year of growth. With your support, we will:

  • Increase food production by 70 percent for The Ark, dramatically expanding our food justice impact.

  • Host monthly Farm-to-Table Shabbat dinners, strengthening community connection and Jewish life on the land.

  • Launch a Sukkot Festival at the farm to celebrate the harvest with families, students, and partner organizations.

  • Construct our yurt classroom, enabling year-round educational programming and expanding our capacity to host the eight organizations already enrolled in our Branches of Learning curriculum.

  • Launch our Farm Membership Program, connecting families directly to their food and to the land through weekly harvesting and learning.

Each of these initiatives brings us closer to a thriving, resilient, community-centered farm that nourures both people and place.
