Sponsorship Program
Your sponsorship will provide Looking and Feeling FAB the ability to continue providing integrative therapies to people whose skin has been affected by cancer treatments.
Most are unaware of the effects treatment for cancer have on the skin, until someone experiences these skin changes themselves or knows someone who experiences them. Skin Care treatments in the United States are considered a luxury. For someone suffering with cancer, skin side effects can lead to low self-esteem, isolation, pain, fear, anxiety, and decrease in quality of life. In fact 85% of people undergoing radiation, develop a moderate to severe burn and one in three cancer survivors stated the skin side effects experienced were worse than they thought and the side effects had negatively affected their life.
Not only do we provide Oncology Skin Care but we also provide Oncology Massage Therapy and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. The physical benefits of a healing touch can be attributed to: A better ability to tolerate cancer treatment side effects; more restful sleep; fewer headaches and less chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (numbness)' an improvement in chemotherapy-related nausea; less chronic pain either from the cancer itself or treatment and relief from stress and anxiety. Manual Lymphatic Drainage, also known as MLD, is a gentle form of massage used to relieve painful swelling in your arms and legs caused by lymphedema. Lymphedema often affects people recovering from cancer surgeries.
