Give FASD a Seat at the Justice Table

Why give?

People with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders are significantly overrepresented in the justice system, often not because of intent or criminality, but because their disability may affect how they process information, respond to authority, or understand consequences.

Many individuals with FASD are more likely to agree with the police, misunderstand their legal rights, panic during encounters, or be manipulated by others, which can lead to unfair outcomes at every stage of the system. Research also shows that people with FASD are frequently victims of crime rather than perpetrators, yet their needs often go unrecognized in courts, corrections, and community supervision.

How will my gift make a difference?

With funding from generous donors like you, FASD United can expand educational resources for law enforcement, judges, attorneys, and corrections staff so that encounters are safer and more accurate from the start. Your support helps give FASD a seat at the table of Justice.
