In this season of giving, Farms for Food Equity continues the work of getting Maine grown-produce to hungry people in our communities, aiming to provide farm fresh vegetables across the calendar year.

In York and Cumberland Counties alone, 50% of people (from college-students to seniors) struggle with food insecurity. It is a problem that transcends demographic divisions.

A $100 donation buys 6 months worth of farm fresh produce for someone in need (over 90 lbs. of vegetables!)

For every $1 donated FFE can provide local vegetables for three meals

$100 purchases 50 lbs. of kale, 200 lbs. of potatoes, over 150 lbs. of squash, 100 lbs. of carrots, 60 lbs. beets, OR 150 lbs. cabbage!

With your support, we purchase surplus produce from local farms, creating a reliable market for farmers, ensuring that every harvest is fully utilized. We then deliver these farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, and proteins to food pantries, providing nourishment to those in need.
