Hi there, I’m Joe! :) I'm a "Top 100 Innovator of 2024" My full name is Joseph Truax. I’m a gifted individual with some invisible medical conditions (Autism, ADHD, BPD, Dysthymia,...). I'm 41 and have been on my own since I was 14 (palindrome :) ). I’ve worked incredibly hard to overcome extreme adversity, and here we are—together on this journey to make a difference.

I’m here for all of us, working toward a better quality of life for everyone. The people who are supposed to help us sometimes fall short, so we’ve got to step up and help ourselves—but peacefully. And I’ve built something special to do just that.

Why “Legacies of Men LLC”?

Global Peace Media and I mutually agreed on creating this as an LLC rather than other structures. Rest assured, we’re still fully operating as a nonprofit—just with the structure that works best for our mission.

What exactly are you funding and why is it $30,000? Check it:

We’ve carefully calculated that $30,000 will allow us to conduct a professional and effective evaluation of our life-saving men’s mental health program. This amount ensures we can complete a thorough pilot program while accounting for contingencies. Here’s how we’ll allocate the funds:

Budget Breakdown

Evaluation Team: $15,000

Salaries or consulting fees for a team of mental health experts, program evaluators, and data analysts who will design metrics, collect data, and analyze the results.

Participant Recruitment: $2,500

Costs for running and distributing a survey to recruit a highly diverse group of 25 men from various backgrounds and experiences. This ensures representation and maximizes the reliability of our data.

Program Operations: $2,500

Venue rentals for in-person group meetings and administrative costs (e.g., printing materials, supplies for participants, and refreshments).

Technology and Tools: $2,000

Tools and software to create, distribute, and analyze pre- and post-program surveys, as well as manage other data collection processes.

Participant Incentives: $1,000

Modest incentives like gift cards or travel reimbursements to encourage participation and make the program accessible.

Report Development: $1,000

Professional formatting and design of the final evaluation report to ensure it’s polished and ready for presentation to stakeholders.

Contingency Fund: $6,000

Reserved for unexpected costs, such as additional team hours, unforeseen logistical challenges, or any participant needs that arise during the program.

What Will This Evaluation Achieve?

This pilot program, lasting 6 to 12 weeks, will be professionally evaluated to measure both qualitative and quantitative outcomes. By working with our evaluation team and leveraging our detailed document of measurable outcomes, we’ll gather robust data on how this program impacts men’s mental health. Specifically, we will:

Assess Quantitative Metrics:

Use standardized tools like PHQ-9 (for depression) and GAD-7 (for anxiety) to measure mental health improvements.

Track attendance, retention, and progress for all participants.

Capture Qualitative Feedback:

Conduct weekly participant surveys and end-of-program interviews to document changes in emotional resilience, relationship satisfaction, and reduced loneliness.

Validate Our Curriculum:

Test the curriculum’s effectiveness in helping men unburden themselves and grow emotionally in a supportive group environment.

Ensure it’s scalable and ready for broader implementation.

Produce a Comprehensive Report:

A detailed report will summarize our findings, highlight measurable impacts, and provide recommendations for expanding the program to reach more men.

The work we've been doing behind the scenes for the past 2 years has led us to this point. This avenue has almost been fulfilled. I have 15 other irons in the fire that I've been developing for the last 17 years. When this one succeeds as it's about to, all my other irons get finished. You know it takes on average 15 years to see overnight success? I'm 2 years over average, but what we've built is anything but average.
