We are FLAIR Lab, a collaborative of queer and trans professionals conducting community-centered research to improve the mental health of BIPOC LGBTQIA+ populations.

Our first project, developed in 2024, was the Measuring TAPE study, a mixed methods investigation of the impact of anti-trans health legislation on providers of gender-affirming and transition-related medical and behavioral health care. We are excited to share our results with communities across the country and have applied to two conferences to present our findings.

We are happy to announce that we have been officially accepted to the 2026 Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) Conference to share our quantitative results! We are also anticipating an acceptance for our proposal to the 14th Annual LGBT Health Workforce Conference where we will share our qualitative results.

Founded by Nat Roberts & Dumayi Gutierrez in an effort to support and mentor other queer and trans researchers, FLAIR Lab accomplishes its work through volunteered time and shared resources. We receive no formal funding. Please help us to share our research by supporting our members’ conference expenses:
