We both started playing our instruments in 4th grade, although Ady also tried the violin in the 2nd grade when strings were all that were allowed. Syd plays the clarinet in the FHS Wind Ensemble, and recently picked up the tenor saxophone in Jazz Band. Adyson plays the flute in the Remington 7/8th Grade Band. We tend to practice at the same time even though we're playing completely different music, so our dog gets excited and "sings" along with us.
Many of our best friends are in band with us, and we love the time we get to spend with them. Music is a huge part of our lives!
We also take private lessons and work hard to improve our sound and technique. This is something that started when Syd was awarded a scholarship from the boosters, which was only possible because of fundraisers like this.
